Ocean Pulse are a unique dive service offering you tailor-made dives to your specification to the Islas Secas, Islas Ladrones and Isla Coiba on Panama's Pacific coast. Dive leader Marcus Maxwell-Batten, a qualified PADI Dive Master and marine biologist, has over 20 years diving experience in locations from Africa, to Asia, the Middle East, to Europe, and Central America.

After working in the diving business world-wide, and pursuing his interest in the marine realm through a University degree and a Masters in marine sciences, he decided to set up his own scuba diving centre. Due to the fantastic variety and abundance of marine life on Panama's Pacific coast, and a love for the local area, he chose Boca Chica as the location. He will help make your diving experience in the Gulf of Chiriqui an unforgettable one and guide you through the incredible marine environment to be found here.

Unlike many other scuba diving operators in Panama, Ocean Pulse only dive the Golf of Chiriqui. This means we have gained a specialised understanding of the local area and the marine life within it. We also only take small groups of divers (a maximum of 6) to ensure a personalised dive experience with a minimum number of other divers around you.

Ocean Pulse is run by Marcus and partner Rebekah with the ultimate aim of establishing a research and study programme in the area to facilitate a quantatative database of marine species and environmental factors influencing the region. As this is a popular fishing ground, and with the increase in tourism, a monitoring system would be beneficial to the area in order to help understand and protect the fish and marine species that inhabit the surrounding waters. It is hoped that by gaining a better understanding of this beautiful and unique marine environment, with conservation and preservation in mind, solutions and management recommendations can be suggested if problems start to arise.
